The Capital PRIDE Parade will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

There is no rain date and there will be no refunds.

1. A completed registration form and payment must be received by Friday, June 3rd, 2024 for each entry.

2. Parade Check-in starts at 9:00 AM and ENDS at 10:30am

3. The parade line-up is determined in advance.

4. Your registration number and location will be given to you when you check in.

5. All parade entrants must march in their assigned spot and are not to “buddy up” with groups as-signed elsewhere in the line-up.

6. All parade entrants are expected to follow all instructions given by the Parade Marshals, Parade Chairperson, and Pride Center Staff.

7. All non-walking Parade entrants must Provide a Certificate of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000, naming the Pride Center of the Capital Region“ as additional insured”. Vehicle & Motorcycle entries may provide proof of auto insurance. If you do not have General Liability Insurance and need a policy for Pride, you can purchase a one-day policy at a specially arranged rate of $75 at bit.ly/PRIDE-INS-2024.

The Pride Center of the Capital Region/City of Albany reserves the right to change the location, dates, hours, or to terminate the operation of the scheduled event entirely, at any time and without prior notice. No refunds will be issued for entrant cancellations or for terminations due to acts of God or any other cause beyond Capital Pride’s reasonable control, e.g. war, fire, strike, change of law or regulation, public catastrophe, in which case all reasonable efforts will be made to offer credit for future events.

The Pride Center will make every reasonable attempt to provide advance notice to vendors of any changes or cancellations.

General rules for Parade participants:

a. No smoking on floats or parade vehicles.

b. Riding on top of or outside of vehicles without safety belts or rails is prohibited; no person shall be wired or tied on. Rails must be at least '42 in height around trailers if there is no form of safety belt available.

c. Fire or open flame on any entrant is prohibited.

d. All drivers of floats or vehicles shall possess a valid driver's license.

e. The exhaust system shall extend beyond any and all decorations so that drivers or riders are not exposed to carbon monoxide.

f. Compressed gases (such as helium) shall be properly secured and safeguarded.

g. Drivers shall have 180 degrees forward vision.

h. Please, no throwing candy from floats. We do, however, encourage walking along the sides of floats and giving out candy and toys! THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

i. Alcoholic beverages are forbidden on any float or vehicle or on the person of any participant. Entries will be taken out of the lineup during the parade if there is an obvious disregard for this rule, an invitation may be withheld in the following year. NO OPENED BEVERAGE CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE PARADE ROUTE.

j. Gasoline may not be carried on any vehicle participating in the parade.

k. No discharging of firearms, similar types of noisemakers, or fireworks allowed.

l. The distance between parade units is to be maintained at 30 feet. All units are required to close the gap between units when requested to do so by a parade official. All entrants must be mindful of the distance between themselves and the entries in front or behind them and maintain proper distance accordingly. It is recommended that an individual other than the driver of all motorized entries be available to warn the driver if it becomes necessary to stop for individuals darting out onto the parade route between entries.

m. Participants riding any type of motorcycle, four wheeler or bike are required to wear the proper helmets once they leave the parade route. They are not required along our route unless otherwise required by law, but are required once participants have completed the parade.

n. Participants are required to have appropriate insurance coverage to cover any foreseeable form of loss, damage, or other injury associated with participation in the event AND

p. As a participant in the Capital Pride Parade ("Event"), I/we acknowledge that participation in this recreational Event exposes me to a possible risk of personal injury. I, hereby release the

Pride Center of the Capital Region and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensees, subsidiaries, consultants, independent contractors and affiliates, from any and all liability from property damage, personal injuries or other claims arising from or in connection with my participation in the Event including claims that are known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen, future or contingent. Pride Center of the Capital Region/Capital PRIDE/City of Albany and the parade Committee reserve the right to bar from the parade at any time any entrant not conforming to the rules and regulations, or refusing to follow the instructions of the police or parade officials. Pride Center of the Capital Region/Capital PRIDE/City of Albany may, for publicity purposes, use any photographs or information received or obtained in connection with the Capital PRIDE Parade.
